Shell Gas Station which is a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company in the United States based a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, a transnational corporation “oil major” of Anglo-Dutch origins, which is amongst the largest oil companies in the world. About 80,000 Shell employees have based in the U.S. Its U.S. headquarters of the Shell Oil Company is in Houston, Texas. Shell Oil Company, including its consolidated companies and its share in equity companies, is one of America’s largest oil and natural gas producers, gasoline marketers, natural gas marketers, and petrochemical manufacturers.

With approximately 25,000 Shell-branded gas stations in the United States, Shell is the market leader. These Shell gas stations also serve as Shell’s most visible public presence. At its gas stations, Shell provides diesel fuel, gasoline, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas. However, in recent years, The Shell Oil Company’s Midstream, and Downstream, in particular, has become limited to petroleum, and chemical products.

This has come as a result of Royal Dutch Shell breaking off its Natural Gas and power businesses into a new segment known as Integrated Gas. The Shell Oil Company’s former Natural Gas, and energy divisions have now been converted to Shell Energy North America, a closely integrated, but a distinctive entity that runs across North America, and its headquarters is based in Houston.

Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd is a fully owned Shell company incorporated in 1998 for the downstream distribution of gas to industries in Nigeria. The mission of Shell Nigeria Gas is to provide manufacturing and industrial and manufacturing customers with a clean, reliable, low-cost alternative to liquid fuel, and to assist in building a stronger Nigerian economy.

Shell Nigeria Gas currently operates a developing world-class gas transmission and distribution network of over 138km in Nigeria. The subsidiary of the Shell Company operates several distribution systems including Agbara-Ota in Ogun state, the Aba Cluster in Abia State, and the Port Harcourt Cluster in Rivers State.

The company is in a growth phase and in recent times has increased its gas distribution capacity by over 150% ensuring its gas distribution networks are capable of distributing over 150 mmscf/d of dry processed gas to over 300 industrial customers. Today over 100 industrial customers are already connected to these gas grids. Shell Nigeria Gas also has a strong relationship with virtual pipeline operators keen on developing compressed natural gas (CNG) and mini-LNG grids across all regions of Nigeria.

The operations of Shell Oil Company directly impact the local population through its direct social investments in education, road safety, and community health. The value chain that has been sustained by the Oil and Gas Company improves internally generated revenues and creates thousands of job opportunities for Nigerians.

Shell Nigeria Gas has built a reputation for safety and credibility and is the only gas distribution company in Nigeria whose facility is ISO 14001:2015 certified. Shell Nigeria Gas distribution network currently spans three (3) main geographical locations in Nigeria. These locations are Ogun State, Abia State, and Rivers State.
